We as the voluntary organization committee of the international Snowdon Race are glad to announce another new concept race for the Snowdon Race BRAND, Llanberis, Wales. Nothing in it’s kind in Wales / UK.
With the popularity of the International Snowdon Race / Ras-yr-Wyddfa growing year on year, the fantastic programme of racing has been bolstered with the announcement of an exciting new uphill only race to the summit of this famous mountain, some 1085m above sea level.
The “Inov8 – Snowdon TWILIGHT” will be held for the 26th June 2020 at 7pm, a few weeks before the main event of the International Snowdon Race.
It will give the runners (who have entered the main race) the opportunity to run UPHILL only in a competitive way, ideal training. It will be limited to just x 200 athletes who will have the experience of racing from the village of Llanberis to the summit of Snowdon and hopefully witness amazing scenery at the highest point in England and Wales.
The main “International Snowdon Race”, now it’s 44th year, is considered as one of the greatest in the world of mountain running, and attracts some of the best racers in Europe. So we as committee decided to test this new ‘twilight’ concept on the 40th anniversary in 2015, in which was very popular and many have been asking the questions about ‘twilight’, “is it on”, “when is it on, when do entries open”… etc. This new concept will bring extra income to us as a voluntary community company full of volunteers, and especially raise the “economic impact” to Llanberis and the area.
Runners will arrive from all parts of UK and Europe and will stay on the Friday (race night) and over the weekend and enjoy another run on another mountain in Snowdonia Looking forward to see you and spread the word !
