15/07/2015

The DMM LLANBERIS 5K will be held on the 15th July 2015 at 6.45pm, a few days before the main event of the International Snowdon Race.

The idea of the NEW RACE, came from the committee, discussing, as you have Bangor 10K, Llanfairpwll 5k, Deiniolen 10K, “why not have a Llanberis 5km” and why not!!!

As we are organising a full week’s activities around the main event to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Snowdon Race. I think it was an ideal opportunity for us to hold a LLANBERIS 5KM.

The new race will give the opportunity for new runners to venture out and try a 5km in a competitive way or use the race as a new challenge or as a warm up for the main event on Saturday.

It will be limited to 200+ athletes who will have the experience of racing from the village of Llanberis up through the streets of Llanberis and then on to the trails and mountains side, with breath taking scenery. Looking down on the village, Moel Eilio look over you, Snowdon in the distance, Moel Gynhorion, Foel Goch and the climb up to Capel Hebron
